Wishaw General Neo-natal Unit
Wishaw General Maternity Unit has a large catchment area, covering the likes of Lanark, Carluke, Wishaw, Hamilton, East Kilbride and Motherwell. Babies born premature need care onsite so to speak as their tiny bodies can't take the strain of a long journey in an ambulance to bigger specialist hospitals. No parent would wish for their child to be born premature but they would want their child to have the best care available if it did and that’s what the Neonatal Unit provides. Although the Unit is funded by the NHS, some of their vital specialised equipment is procured by way of very generous donations. That is why it is vital that the Neonatal Unit at Wishaw General gets all the support it can muster, so that it can continue to provide the highest level of care to those special babies that need it.
